Use standard technique to obtain fluid from the site.
Transfer to a container and secure the lid to prevent leakage.
Indicate on the Cytology form/requisition the specimen site/body site/collection method/laterality
Sample must be received fresh (no fixative.

Deliver immediately and within 1 hour after collection by Service Assistant/porter or pneumatic tube to the Cytology Wet Lab room 6-100-10 on the 6th Floor.
