If ordered together with Urinalysis, Microscopy, microscopic analysis will only be performed if there is a positive result for Protein, Blood, Leukocytes and/or Nitrites. Otherwise, microsopic analysis is cancelled with the comment:
Urine Microscopy test cancelled because dipstick screen is negative for blood, leukocytes, protein and nitrite (bacteria).
The only exception to rule is for immunocompromised patients.
