Minimum 10 ml to a maximum of 80 ml.

Indicate on the Cytology form/ requisition the specimen site/body site/collection method/laterality
Deliver immediately and within 2 hours after collection by Service Assistant/porter or pneumatic tube to the Cytology Wet Lab room 6-100-10 on the 6th Floor.
After hours delivery by Service Assistant/porter to the "After Hours" refrigerator located near the patient elevators.

1. Discard the first voided urine of the day.
2. Drink plenty of water (2-3 glasses) before collecting the sample to ensure a good urine flow.
2. Urinate directly into the sterile container. Collect enough urine to fill the container to at least half full.
3. Screw the cap on the container and turn the lid to make sure it is tightly sealed.
