○ On requisition note if patient has: eosinophilia, HIV, immunocompromised, has a critical illness or was admitted to ICU, or had a previous parasitic infection.

○ On requisition note if: patient is a new immigrant or refugee or returned traveler under ‘Travel’ section of the requisition. Indicate Country/Region

○ Sterile container

○ Label specimen container. Place specimens in biohazard bag and seal.

○ Transport specimens to the UHN/SH Microbiology Laboratory at room temperature (20-25˚C)

○ The specimen will be referred to the Public Health Ontario Laboratory for testing
